PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Many Rhode Islanders gathered Monday night for a prayer vigil at the Jewish Community Center on the East side of Providence. NBC 10 learned that there are Rhode Island residents in Israel now that family members have been unable to reach. Family members and friends were distraught, waiting for word about their loved ones in Israel. Merone Reuben, the Israeli Consulate General, has two daughters there. One is a reserve. "She just let me know that she's going in the field and won't be available for at least 24 hours, and not to worry but of course we worry," said Reuben.
