Ørsted and Eversource Energy, ahead of Monday's noon deadline, submitted a joint proposal in response to Rhode Island's second offshore wind solicitation. The 884-megawatt Revolution Wind 2 would build upon Revolution Wind 1, the 704-megawatt project already under development by Ørsted and Eversource (NYSE: ES), with construction set to start this year. While Revolution Wind 1 would sell power to Rhode Island and Connecticut, Revolution Wind 2 would serve Rhode Island alone. It would generate enough electricity to power around 500,000 homes.
