The pandemic raised awareness about the link between building ventilation and public health, and Gov. Dan McKee in late 2022 announced funding to help small businesses improve their indoor air quality to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Now the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation has opened its $2 million R.I. Rebounds Ventilation Support grant program, through nearly a dozen intermediary groups across the state, and applications are being accepted. The program offers $10,000 grants to small businesses that wish to upgrade their HVAC systems, install air purifier, install windows, and more.
